Primary School

Phelisanong operate the Mamello English Medium Primary School for orphans, disabled, and vulnerable children. The school aims to be exceptional: English immersion gives the children a head start towards higher education, and a developing school library opens the world of reading to Basotho children. Sports, art and music are integrated in the curriculum, along with life skills such as agriculture, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Students exchange art and letters with twinned schools in Canada and the U.S., and are gaining entry into the world of the internet through a recent computer lab installation.

Secondary School

Phelisanong High School serves students from Form A through C: grades nine through 11. The school is primarily for disabled students and girls.

Scholarships

In addition to running their own high school, Phelisanong has a scholarship program  enabling needy and deserving students to attend high school, vocational school, and university.  A tertiary and vocational scholarship program is also open to Phelisanong volunteers, disabled youth, and staff who wish to pursue higher education in health, education, and vocational studies. This program aims to build the skills base of the project team and provide sustainable livelihoods to people with disabilities.
