Worker Stipends

Workers at Phelisanong volunteer their time and expertise. Many of them have families of their own to support, and the organization wishes to acknowlege their contribution to the Phelisanong community with a small stipend, to keep workers' families healthy, and to retain trained and dedicated volunteers who may otherwise leave in pursuit of paid work.

These stipends are NOT salaries; they are meant as a temporary (2 year) payment which, as the organization moves towards self-sufficiency, will be replaced with a more permanent renumeration.
